A 21st Century Learning Environment Model Classroom or 21st CLEM is being set up in Balanga City National Science High School (BCNSHS).
DOST Bataan Director Catalina Cruz said BCNSHS is the first adopter of 21st CLEM in Central Luzon.
She also said the science model classroom is currently being established in a building provided by the city science high school.
The 21st CLEM will be equipped with interactive projector and smartboard in one, visualizer, laptops, wireless printer, and wi-fi.
Available creative technologies include 3D printer, Robotics, and virtual and augmented reality. Educational technologies are DOST courseware, SIMATAR, STARBOOKS, LEAP, and Frontlearners Learning Management System (with LED TV).
Mobile facilities include re-configurable tablets and chairs, mobile laptop caddy, mobile maker space, and teacher’s lectern.
For BCNSHS 21st CLEM, the equipment are jointly provided by DOST and Balanga City Government.
DOST Science Education Institute developed and launched 21st CLEM in 2017 and had since assisted school-adopters in setting up their own model.
The classroom is strategically equipped with facilities designed for mobility and connectivity which aims to develop the learners’ 21st century skills.
